For 49 years the Kentuck Festival has served as a hub for self-taught, visionary, and outsider artists--many of whom are often left out of the traditional narrative of American Art. It has been an economic driver for local businesses, making a more than $5 million economic impact in only 2 days. It has been a free educational experience for thousands of children and reminder of the joy of community. It has been part of our heritage and part of our identity.
Due to public health concerns in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Kentuck Festival of the Arts has been cancelled. This was a difficult decision--not only emotionally, but also fiscally. Each year the Kentuck Festival generates profits in excess of $200,000, money which partially goes towards the preparations for the next year's festival.
The Kentuck Festival Forever Fund will ensure that the Kentuck Festival continues for years to come. Whether you've supported us for 49 years or this was to be your first year, Kentuck has called you part of our family, and we meant it. You have stuck with us, and we ask that you continue your support now, when we need it most.
Your contribution will not only help to secure the future of the Kentuck Festival, but also will support our efforts to develop new, sustainable programming that empowers our community and artists.
Kentuck thanks you, and future generations thank you!
